    * * *
    “ For tragedy is an imitation ('mimesis'), not of men, but of an action ('praxeos') and of life, and life consists in action, and its end is a mode of action ('to telos praxeis tis estin'), not a quality. Now character determines men's qualities, but it is by their actions that they are happy or the reverse.”

    [Aristotle’s Poetics, 50 a 16-18]

    “ There is a need for heralds of the Gospel who are experts in humanity, who have a profound knowledge of the heart of present-day man, sharing his joys and hopes, his anguish and sadness, and who are also contemplative souls, in love with God. “

    [Pope John Paul II to the European Council of Bishops' Conferences, 11-10-85]

Rodolfo Papa

rodolfopapaLast week we had the Rodolfo Papa's Seminar. A very interesting, engaged and audacious approach to the Christian origin for the pictorial perspective, according (I sumarize and maybe betray Rodolfo in saying this) to some historical views on Christian architectural tradition and the promoting popular and secular piety purposes. We are waiting for his provisional paper.
